Visceral, impressive, intriguing and 100% narcissistic, Intel’s ‘Museum of Me’ is the best alternative to those ridiculous Facebook apps that offer to reveal ‘Who stalks your page?’ and ‘Your best friends’.
The best part is that it won’t automatically post the damn thing to your profile, and neither will it post a broken video link to a random selection of your friends on Facebook promoting a Myer gift card.
Moonchild
Sydney-based spaceman Antoine Lunaire, aka Moonchild has the whole ‘French-but-not-really’ thing going on, with his own brand of Electro Disco beats that have definite flavours of Louis Laroche, Thomas Bangalter and Alan Braxe worked in. Check his remixes as well. If you’re someone who generally dislikes remixes on principle, just get over it, and take a listen.
The highly anticipated full-length release from French bad boy SebastiAn.
With entree release ‘Embody’ served up about 2 months ago, the release certainly keeps with the dirty-funky-dramatic electro reputation that EdBanger records have established for themselves over the years.
We (I) can now only hope that Breakbot decides to follow suit and release his own (well overdue) debut LP.
Anatomy of a Mashup: Definitive Daft Punk visualised
Must watch for Daft Punk fans, visual design fans, or both. The two seem to be quite synonymous anyway.
Ume Kayo/2nd Birthday
I bought one of Ume Kayo’s books as a gift today. My standard procedure for books as gifts is to at least flick through them to check that the book fulfils the basic criteria for a gift - fun, irrelevant and destined for the coffee table. I did indeed flip through Kayo’s ‘Today’s Happening: Ume-Me’, and ended up going through to the end.
There something about every photo that strikes you, for want of a better cliche.
Also, my blog turns 2 this month. I feel somehow that 2nd birthdays don’t even hold a candle to 1st birthdays. Nonetheless, here’s to 2 years of The Duke, despite the last 3 months being void of activity.
